She is a Wendell, Getty, and Kenan Scholar and Fullbright finalist. She has worked at the Albright Knox and Burchfield Penney museums in the curatorial and education departments. Currently, she works as an Art Consultant in CHS assisting established artists streamlining business and communication processes, securing placement, managing commissions, and creating residual income in addition to consulting local public museums and commercial spaces.  Currently, she is curating a show that will open March 2023 at the Aiken Rhett House in CHS. She has been awarded the Denis Diderot Scholarship as an emerging artist and will be a resident at Chateau Orquevaux in June 2023.  Traditionally she has worked as a commissioned artist but since 2020 Julie has slowly started to focus on her own work and explore traditional mediums and her love of the outdoors at her new second home on the Space Coast, Florida. She enjoys working plein air ala prima and uses those studies to inspire major works.
